Important Update: New U.S. Customs & Duties Rules

We want to take a moment to explain something that’s recently changed and, unfortunately, is out of our hands.

A new U.S. executive order has altered the rules for cross-border shipments. As a result, all incoming packages to the U.S. are now subject to duty and customs fees—regardless of value. This is a sudden shift, and it means that customers ordering from small businesses like ours may see unexpected charges upon delivery.

Because of the nature of our work—artisan-made, globally sourced goods created through fair trade partnerships—our products will almost always fall under categories affected by these duties. The hardest part is that we don’t know the exact percentages or timelines involved. Customs determines the charges at the border, and each order may vary. This is not something that we can prepay, this is not a cost we can just add into our products, and we have no idea what charges US customs is going to apply.

We understand how frustrating and confusing this is. We’re right there with you, navigating it in real time and hoping, truly, that this is only temporary. We are praying this policy ends as soon as possible, so that the joy of bringing handmade beauty into your home isn’t weighed down by extra costs. We are a small (but mighty!!) woman-run business based in Canada, but we have always worked closely with our American neighbours, and will continue to do so for as long as we are able to be in business.

Thank you for your continued support—it means the world to us and to the artisan families whose livelihoods depend on this work. Your choice to stand with small businesses during uncertain times keeps traditions alive and stories woven into every piece.

With gratitude,
