Santiago Wool Blanket

Handmade by wool artisans in the highlands of Guatemala, Telma and Luis (and their entire family) are involved in every part of the process: shearing the sheep, hand washing the wool. making natural dyes to colour the yarn, and spinning the wool onto cones. The blankets are then woven on a traditional wooden pedal loom which takes several days, then an entire day is spent washing and brushing by hand. This method helps the wool to become extremely soft to the touch, and much less itchy and scratchy. Absolutely no toxic chemicals are used in the process. 

This is a "forever blanket." The weave is tight and dense, an unmistakably high quality textile that will last a lifetime.

Our wool blankets are carefully handwoven on pedal looms, then hand brushed for a time-worn, super soft feel. Responsibly made in a fair trade environment by our artisan partners in Guatemala - a small family team of talented artisans and entrepreneurs. We work closely (and in person) to ensure the craftsmanship is responsible and of the highest possible quality.

Hand loomed items are made entirely by hand, so slight size variations and imperfections can occur. We celebrate the fact that each and every piece is entirely unique!

Returns are accepted within 14 days of delivery for unused items in original condition. Return shipping is at the buyer’s expense. If your order arrives damaged, email us at hello@wyldebrigade.com with photos—we’ll make it right.
