About Wylde Brigade
What is Wylde Brigade?
Wylde Brigade is an artisan-made home goods brand based in Canada. We create and curate handwoven blankets, pillows, rugs, and textiles you’ll actually use every day—built for real life, made with care, and sourced through direct relationships with artisan families around the world.
What makes Wylde Brigade different?
We work directly with artisan partners (we don’t “source from factories”). Our pieces are made using traditional weaving techniques, designed to be functional (many are machine washable), and crafted to last. Every purchase supports artisan livelihoods and helps preserve generations-old textile traditions.
Where are you located?
We’re based on the Sunshine Coast in British Columbia, Canada, and we ship to customers across Canada, the US and worldwide.
Where are your products made?
Our artisan partners are based in Ecuador, Guatemala, Mexico, Turkey, and Morocco. Each collection is made in partnership with specific weaving families and workshops, using techniques and materials native to their region.
Do you employ artisans?
We partner with artisans and artisan-led workshops—we don’t “employ” makers. We collaborate directly, pay fairly, and build long-term relationships that prioritize dignity, sustainability, and craft. We actually consider ourselves to be working for the artisans, marketing their products and finding new homes for their creations.
Are you fair trade?
We follow fair trade principles—direct partnerships, fair pay, and responsible production—while focusing on relationship-based sourcing and transparency.
How do you ensure ethical sourcing?
We work directly with artisan families, spend time on the ground with our partners, and prioritize long-term relationships over one-off buying. That means better quality, better working conditions, and more consistent support for artisan communities.
Products & Materials
Are your blankets machine washable?
Many of our blankets are machine washable, which is part of what makes them “everyday” pieces. Always check the care instructions on the product page to be sure, since materials and weaves can vary by collection.
Will my item look exactly like the photos?
We photograph items as accurately as possible, but handmade goods can vary slightly. For one-of-a-kind rugs, you’ll receive the exact rug shown on the product page.
Why do handmade pieces cost more?
Handmade textiles take time, skill, and quality materials. You’re paying for expert craftsmanship, ethical production, and a piece that’s designed to last—not mass production.
Do you offer reversible blankets?
Yes—many of our blanket designs are reversible, giving you two looks in one and making them extra versatile for styling. Look for the Artisan Blanket collection.
Are your blankets good for outdoor adventures?
They’re designed to be adventure-ready and home-worthy—great for camping, beach days, road trips, and cabin weekends. We still recommend keeping them away from sharp rocks, open flames, and heavy abrasion (they’re textiles, after all).
Do you offer custom rugs?
Yes. We carry a range of rugs, including one-of-a-kind handwoven Moroccan rugs through Baba Souk. We offer custom rugs priced the same as in-stock rugs. Typical production time is 8–10 weeks. Please email us with any questions regarding any custom designs.
Can you help me choose the right size or style?
Absolutely. If you’re between sizes or want styling help, reach out and tell us your space, vibe, and dimensions—we’ll guide you.
Ordering & Availability
Are items limited edition?
Many of our pieces are made in small batches, and some are truly one-of-a-kind (especially rugs). If you love something, we recommend grabbing it—restocks aren’t always guaranteed and we always sell out.
What does “in stock” mean?
“In stock” means the item is ready to ship from our warehouse, or from our studio in Morocco. Custom items have longer lead times and will be clearly marked.
How do I know if something will be restocked?
If a product page includes a restock note, that’s the best source of truth. You can also sign up for back-in-stock notifications (when available) or message us.
Can I change or cancel my order?
If your order hasn’t shipped yet, we’ll do our best to help. Email us as soon as possible with your order number. Once your order has shipped, there is no way we are able to stop or cancel your order.
Do you offer gift notes or gift wrapping?
If gift notes are available at checkout, you can add one there. If you need something special, reach out—we’ll do our best to accommodate.
Shipping
How long does shipping take?
Shipping times vary by destination and season. You’ll receive tracking once your order ships.
Do you ship from Canada?
Yes—orders ship from Canada, and there are some rugs that will ship straight from Morocco.
Will I have to pay duties or import fees?
Possibly. For US customers, recent customs changes can result in duties, taxes, or carrier brokerage fees. These are set by your country and carrier, and they’re outside our control.
Why did UPS bill me after delivery?
UPS may invoice duties/taxes/brokerage after delivery if they have not been paid before delivery occurred. If you’re unsure whether a charge is legitimate, contact the carrier directly with your tracking number.
My tracking hasn’t updated—what should I do?
Tracking can lag, especially during peak seasons. If it hasn’t moved for several business days, reach out with your order number and we’ll help investigate.
My package says delivered but I don’t have it—what now?
First, check around your delivery area and with neighbours/building management. Then contact the carrier. If you still can’t locate it, email us and we’ll help with next steps.
Returns, Exchanges & Warranty
What is your return policy?
We accept returns within 14 days of delivery. Items must be unused and in original condition.
Who pays for return shipping?
Return shipping is paid by the customer.
What if my item arrives damaged or there’s an issue?
Email us right away with photos and your order number. We’ll make it right.
Can I return a custom rug?
Because custom rugs are made to order, they may be final sale unless there’s a defect. If you have questions before ordering, please reach out—we’re happy to help you feel confident.
Care & Longevity
How do I care for my blanket?
Care depends on the specific piece. Many blankets are machine washable; others may require gentler care. Always follow the care instructions on the product page.
Will my blanket shed or pill?
Natural fibers can shed slightly at first, especially with friction. Gentle washing and avoiding rough surfaces helps. If you ever have concerns, message us with a photo.
Are your rugs easy to maintain?
Most rugs do well with regular vacuuming and spot cleaning. For deeper cleaning, we recommend professional cleaning appropriate for the rug’s materials.
Do your colours fade?
Like most textiles, prolonged direct sunlight can fade colour over time. If your space gets strong sun, rotate your textiles occasionally.
Gifting
Are your products good gifts?
They’re some of our favourite gifts—meaningful, practical, and made to last. Blankets and pillows are especially giftable.
Can I send a gift directly to someone?
Yes—enter their shipping address at checkout. If you’d like a note included, add it if the option is available, or email us immediately after ordering.
Wholesale & Partnerships
Do you offer wholesale?
Yes—select products may be available for wholesale here.
Do you collaborate with creators or influencers?
We’re open to collaborations that align with our values and aesthetic. Send us your profile, audience details, and what you have in mind.
Support & Contact
How can I contact you?
The fastest way is to email us (use the contact form on our site). Include your order number if you have one.
How quickly do you respond?
We’re a small team and do our best to reply within 1–2 business days (often sooner).
I have a question that isn’t answered here—can you help?
Absolutely. Send us a note with what you’re shopping for, your space/vibe, and any measurements—we love helping you find the right piece.
Transparency (Handmade Reality)
Why are there small imperfections?
Handmade pieces are made by human hands on traditional looms, not machines. Small variations in weave, texture, and colour are normal—and a sign of authentic craftsmanship.
How do you balance tradition with everyday function?
We honour traditional techniques while designing for modern life—durability, comfort, and (for many pieces) easy care—so your textiles can be used, loved, and lived with.
